Welcome
I’m glad you’re here.
It is no small task to find the right therapist or type of therapy for your needs. I appreciate the time you’re taking to explore whether I am a good fit for you. I recommend checking out the about pages to learn more about me in detail: my background, approach to therapy, and guiding principles that inform my work.
But in case you’re doing a quick glance, here are the Coles notes of my practice:
- I primarily specialize in a type of existential therapy called Existential Analysis and Logotherapy
- I also take a special interest in ecotherapy, Jungian and psychodynamic approaches, and astrological counselling
- My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, inclusive, depth-oriented, body-focused, multicultural, and spiritually-integrated
- The most frequently occurring statement clients say to me is “That’s a good question”
- There will likely be tears in my office, but rest assured, we are also going to laugh
If you’re interested in working together, I’d love to hear from you. Please fill out an inquiry on the contact page and I’ll be in touch.
-Janelle

The Office
My office is located on the main floor of a commercially rezoned house—Highlands Therapy Collective—in the neighbourhood of Highlands in Edmonton, just off of 112 Avenue (right behind Direct Line Insurance). If you have some time before or after session, you may want to grab a bite at Fox Burger, satisfy your sweet tooth at Be-a-Bella, or get your ice cream fix at Kind Ice Cream. You can also take a walk along Ada Boulevard or visit the river and access the trails behind Concordia University.

ᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ | Treaty 6 territory
I am grateful to be able to provide therapy in Edmonton, the traditional territory of many First Nations including nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux.
land as sacred teacher
The land is not something to just build a house on or to use for resources, but rather the land is its own being to enter into relationship with. To me, Edmonton is not just the city or the people. It is the land. It is the river, Omaka-ty (Niitsitapi). It is an honour for my office to reside so closely to Omaka-ty. This land, especially the river, has been a significant teacher and guide through my own psychological journey and the journey of many clients. I am grateful to be in relationship with this land and continue in my aim to honour the peoples who have lived on and traversed this territory time immemorial.

In therapy,
Your Voice Matters-
Therapy is where you can be heard, seen, and understood
To have a voice is to be human.
To have something to say is to be a person.
But speaking depends on listening and being heard;
it is an intensely relational act.
– Carol Gilligan

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Therapy isn’t always the most accessible, especially if you don’t have coverage. I do offer some sliding scale options in special circumstances. If you cannot afford the full fee, I encourage you to inquire about this during the intake call and we can discuss possible options further.
How do I know if you can help me?
Once you submit an inquiry, I’ll set up a time with you to have a phone consultation so we can assess whether we are a good fit. Before you submit an inquiry, I recommend reading through the about pages to learn more about me and my approach.
Location, Parking, Access?
Address: 11209 65 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5W 4K4
Neighbourhood: My office is a part of the Highlands Therapy Collective in a commercially rezoned house tucked behind what used to be Direct Line Insurance along 65 Street.
Parking: There is free street parking along 65 Street.
Transit: The ETS 101 bus stops along 112 Ave close to the building.
Accessibility: My office is located on the main floor, however there are stairs leading into the building. Unfortunately the house is not wheelchair accessible. Please inquire about options for online sessions if accessibility is a concern.
Is there a required or recommended frequency of sessions?
There is no set amount of sessions you have to attend, and everyone is different in terms of what they need. This is the same for frequency – you get to decide how often you would like to come. You also have no obligation to continue coming for therapy and you can stop at any time.
